The Chinook Catastrophe: Thoughts on Ambush

Bob Mulholland's third post in his continued analysis of the The Chinook Catastrophe. See also Familiar Tactics.

The U.S. military now says the chopper was fired upon from multiple directions. Classic North Vietnamese tactic -- induce the Americans to send choppers into a valley, coming to help American troops, right into a cross-valley ambush. I doubt if most of the American military leaders are even aware of that. If they are, they should receive a court-martial for sending 38 troops to their death's, but they won't.

When I listen to John McCain with his call for expanding the wars, I remember he graduated from the Naval Academy in the bottom five (5, not 5%) out of 800 in his class.
